Cancer Education and Early Detection (CEED)

The New Jersey Department of Health, Division of Family Health Services is the funding source for the New Jersey Cancer Education and Early Detection (CEED) Program. St. Joseph’s is committed to serving a diverse and predominantly underserved population.

The overall goal of the CEED Program is to increase adherence to routine cancer screenings for low income persons without health insurance. The targeted population served is residents of Passaic County who have never, or rarely, been screened for breast, cervical, prostate and/or colorectal cancers and who meet the eligibility guidelines. The CEED Program staff works diligently to provide high-quality comprehensive healthcare and to assure access to follow-up care. A multidisciplinary team consisting of a Board-certified gynecologist, internal medicine physicians, as well as a nurse clinical coordinator, medical assistants and outreach workers, is on board to assist.
