8th Annual Heart ConferencePATERSON, NJ [MARCH 16, 2009] - St. Joseph's Healthcare System hosted their 8th Annual St. Joseph's Healthy Heart Conference, held at William Paterson University. The 240 people from throughout northern New Jersey, benefited from 21 workshops on heart disease and stroke risk reduction, advances in diagnosis and treatment, as well as strategies for managing stress and living with heart disease.

 

April Stearns, Catering Director at William Paterson University, Pat Ortlieb, RD, CDE, Senior Clinical Dietitian, St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital, and Julie Edwards, RD, CDN, Clinical Nutritionist, St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, offered three one-hour cooking workshops where they showed participants how to prepare low-fat, heart-healthy meals.
