Also on the St. Joseph's Paterson campus, a new lobby with 256-seat educational conference center and dedicated Women's and Children's waiting area, opened in September 2010 (see details below). The lobby offers easy access to services offered throughout St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center and St. Joseph's Children's Hospital.
Near the lobby, a new 1,122-space parking garage with retail space is nearing completion by an external organization. Additional future plans include an adjacent new 16-story luxury hotel to be built by MMC (Medical Missions for Children) Worldwide.
Associated projects include the upcoming consolidation of services within the Women's and Children's Tower, cosmetic upgrades to all patient rooms and nursing stations on patient care units with an increase in private patient rooms; addition of circular driveway access to the main lobby; a new 1,122-car parking garage with retail space (currently nearing completion by an outside organization), and the construction of an adjacent luxury hotel by Medical Missions Children (MMC) Worldwide.
Construction of the new main lobby with a high tech 256-seat conference center as well as the Women's and Children's waiting area was dedicated in September 2010. Additional amenities include the "Sisters' Wall", a tribute to the Healthcare System's founders and sponsors, the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth; a new Chapel entrance; café; gift shop; patio and courtyard seating; globe and video light wall features; and computerized player piano. A 12-foot bronze statue at the entrance to the Medical Center, unveiled at the lobby dedication in September 2010, portrays the solidarity of spiritual and clinical practice, the essence of the mission of St. Joseph's Healthcare System.
