Project Ladybug at St. Joseph's - Fundraising
Project Ladybug brings many events and celebrations and much cheer to St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Paterson NJ.
Project Ladybug's mission is to do anything and everything we can to keep a smile on the children's faces while they're in treatment. From throwing their birthday parties to having events like today at the hospital with the hopes of a positive outcome we feel if we can keep their spirits lifted it really makes an affect on their stay in the hospital.
Project Ladybug raises funds all year round for many different things for the children from food clothing, computer, incentive games to get them through hours of chemotherapy and radiation not that we're taking away the pain but we're giving them their childhood that they really deserve. They really help to provide the social piece of entertainment helping them to adapt while they're in the hospital by buying kids laptops while they're in the hospital so they can be on facebook or twitter, games or toys for here while they're in the outpatient area so they don't feel so clinical, helping things with their brothers or sisters and sending them on day trips so that they can have a normal life while they're going through the disease process.
These children a lot of them inner city children who can't afford to come to the hospital here for chemo with a winter coat, so for us to be able to provide the little things and the big things, every penny counts. Miraculously enough the money keeps coming in for Project Ladybug, people know that the money is for the children. Almost an international foundation, Ladybug continues to expand and looks forward to expanding locally as well beyond the oncology department and incorporating other departments such as Feeding and Swallowing at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center.
