Didactic Sessions

  • Monday: Morning reports 8:30-9:00am. Residents present interesting inpatient cases with expert commentary by program leadership faculty
  • Tuesday: Department grand rounds 8:30-9:30am
  • Wednesday: Clinical protected didactic sessions 1:00-4:00pm.  These sessions cover interactive discussions of curricular topics recommended by the AAP.  Also, during these sessions residents present journal clubs, state of the art evidence-based discussions of diagnosis and management of a variety of clinical issues, adolescent medicine topics, pediatric community and advocacy talks, and discussions of professionalism and wellness.  Bi-weekly at 8:00-9:00am radiology faculty present interesting case-based imaging studies. 
  • Thursday: Neonatal and pediatric intensive care presentations 8:30-9:30am by residents with expert commentary by NICU and PICU faculty.
  • Friday: 8:30-9:30am – Board review
  • Mondays 8:30-9:30 the pediatric continuity clinic: Residents and their supervising faculty discuss assessment and management of general pediatrics topics, including prevention, screening tools and anticipatory guidance
