Yes, vaccination is safe and effective in patients with mild illnesses including common colds, mild diarrhea, or other mild ailments. However, if you have a fever over 100 F, consult with your healthcare provider.

How soon are the vaccines effective?

The vaccines are considered fully effective within 10 days of the second shot.
