St. Joseph’s Health Receives 2022 Wayne Corporate Good Citizen Of The Year Award

Wayne, N.J. (October 25, 2022) —St. Joseph’s Health is pleased to announce that the healthcare system has been awarded this year’s 2022 Wayne Corporate Good Citizen of the Year Award. This award, given by the Wayne Township Economic Development Commission and the Mayor of Wayne, Christopher Vergano, is presented to businesses that have positively impacted the community. This year, the committee recognized the many health care professionals and first responders who provided care during the COVID-19 pandemic at the 40th Annual Arthur B. Ham Memorial Corporate Appreciation Breakfast.

“I am very proud to accept this award on behalf of our dedicated employees who provided exceptional care to all of our patients during the height of the pandemic, and continue to do so today,” said Kevin Slavin, President and CEO of St. Joseph’s Health. “This award is a true reflection of the remarkable team we have at St. Joseph’s Health.”

The Corporate Appreciation Breakfast, as well as the Good Citizen Award, were both started by the Township under the direction of Art Ham, the Director and Chair of the Township’s Economic Development Commission for approximately 20 years. After Mr. Ham retired, this award was named after him. Nominees are chosen by a committee who submits a list to the Mayor for final selection.

“Because this is the first breakfast we’ve had since the beginning of the pandemic, we thought it would be fitting to honor healthcare workers,” said Mayor Vergano. “I want to thank the entire St. Joseph’s Health team for all they did during the COVID-19 Pandemic to take care of our residents during the historic and challenging time in healthcare.”
