Specialized Knee Care for Pain-Free Living

The knee is the body’s largest joint and is also a complex system of supportive and moving parts, including bones, cartilage, muscles, tendons, and ligaments – each of which is subject to injury or disease. Because of this, treatment of knee-related injuries and disorders requires a distinct set of skills and experience.

St. Joseph’s Health is a leader in evaluating and treating the full range of knee problems, from the common to the most complex. Our board-certified, fellowship trained orthopedic surgeons provide exceptional, comprehensive care, from initial consultation and diagnosis through treatment and follow-up.  Whether you are a high-level athlete dealing with a sports injury or if your knees are worn out from years of everyday use, we work closely with you to create a personalized treatment plan that fits your lifestyle and best meets your needs. Using the latest surgical and non-surgical techniques, our goal is to alleviate pain, restore function, and help return patients to their normal lifestyle as soon as possible.  We are leaders in minimally invasive technique, allowing for a faster recovery, fewer days in the hospital and less pain after surgery.

Conditions We Treat

We treat the full range of knee issues, including:

  • ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injury
  • Hamstring muscle injuries
  • MCL (medial collateral ligament) injury
  • Meniscus tears
  • Osteoarthritis
  • PCL (posterior cruciate ligament) injury
  • Post-traumatic arthritis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Sports injuries
  • Torn cartilage
  • Work injuries

Advanced Treatment Options

Knee care starts with a thorough assessment, which may include advanced diagnostic imaging. Oftentimes, knee pain can often be relieved through non-surgical techniques. Our orthopedic team will work with you to treat and potentially resolve your knee pain using physical therapy, interventional pain management, medications, injections or other non-surgical therapies.

If non-surgical treatments aren’t successful and symptoms persist, knee surgery may be the right option for you. Our surgeons perform a wide range of knee surgeries, using the latest, minimally invasive techniques whenever possible.  This means significantly less pain, shorter hospital stays, and quicker return to your life.  We use state-of-the-art equipment, like the Mako® arthroplasty system. This robotic knee surgery lets surgeons replace the diseased portion of the knee while sparing the surrounding healthy bone and ligaments.

Surgical treatments include:

  • Knee arthroscopy
  • Knee fracture repair
  • Knee reconstruction
  • Knee revision
  • Torn meniscus repair
  • Total or partial knee replacement
