Inpatient Pharmacy
The Department of Pharmacy Services is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson and at St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center, where our dedicated pharmacists work directly with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff. Clinical pharmacy services include a team of specialists who collaborate to provide high quality care. They are engaged in patient care, policy development, teaching, and serve on various committees, projects, and other initiatives.

Retail Pharmacy
Our outpatient/retail pharmacies are available on our campuses in Paterson, Wayne and Totowa so that patients are able to pick up prescriptions prior to discharge. Whether you are here for an outpatient test, same-day procedure or have been hospitalized, our full-service retail pharmacies make getting your medication easier for you and your loved ones.
Specialty Pharmacy
Patients managing challenging conditions are often prescribed specialty medications, which are not available at traditional retail pharmacies because they require specific storage, careful dispensing, and close monitoring for side effects. At St. Joseph Health’s Specialty Pharmacy, we offer accredited experts equipped to carry and dispense such specialty medications to meet all our patients’ needs.
