Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapist provides expert occupational therapy services to patient.

Personalized Care, Restored Independence

For someone recovering from an injury or surgery, seemingly simple tasks can be challenging. Occupational therapists evaluate and focus on improving your ability to perform daily functional tasks like bathing, getting dressed, cooking, driving and working. The goal in occupational therapy is to help you be as independent, safe, active, and successful as possible in the activities you want and need to do each day.

St. Joseph’s Health occupational therapists help people of all ages gain life skills to achieve their goals after an injury or illness.  They are trained in the latest advances in occupational therapy and provide evidence-based therapies for a wide range of conditions, from stroke to cognitive and perceptual dysfunction to upper extremity and hand injuries.  Our skilled, highly trained therapists look at the big picture to identify all of the factors that are keeping you from doing the things you want and need to do. We then develop a personalized treatment plan to address those deficits, working with you to maximize your hand and arm strength, coordination, visual perception, balance, cognition and/or endurance.  Our goal is to help achieve maximum independence.
