Driving Directions

Directions to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital


From New York City:

Take George Washington Bridge to Route 80 West (l  ocal or express lanes) for approximately 12 miles. Take Exit 58A Madison Avenue/Clifton (NOT Madison Avenue/Paterson) and bear sharp right – continue right at the yield sign to Madison Avenue, continue to the second light and make a right turn onto Main Street North. Proceed under the railroad trestle and St. Joseph’s parking pavilion will be on the right.

For the Emergency Department, continue north on Main Street, then make a right on Mary Street. Continue and turn right into our driveway. If necessary, pull over in front of the Emergency Department, keep your emergency lights on. As needed, parking officials or security can direct you toward available parking.

From Northern Areas:

Take Garden State Parkway South to Exit 158 – Route 80 west, then follow directions above from New York City, including directions to the Emergency Department.

From Western Areas:

Traveling East on Route 80 take Exit 58A Madison Avenue/Clifton. Make sharp right up the ramp to Madison Avenue and continue to the second light and make right turn onto Main Street north. Proceed under the railroad trestle and St. Joseph’s parking pavilion will be on the right. For the Emergency Department, following the directions from New York City.

From Southern Areas:

Traveling north on the Garden State Parkway, take Exit 155P for Route 19, and follow the signs for Route 19. Travel on exit ramp to first for Broad Street/Clifton. Make a right at the end of the exit ramp on to Broad Street. Follow road under train tracks and bear left. Road becomes Marshall Street. Turn right on to Barclay Street. Hospital is directly in front of you. Follow signs to visitors parking.

For the Emergency Department, make a left off Barclay Street onto Main Street and stay to your right, then make a right on Mary Street. Continue and turn right into our driveway. If necessary, pull over in front of the Emergency Department, keep your emergency lights on. As needed, parking officials or security can direct you toward available parking.

Directions to St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center


From New York City:

Take George Washington Bridge to Route 80 West Express, then merge onto I-80 West. In approximately 10 miles, take exit 57B toward Downtown Paterson.

Note, you’ll then take the following mains roads: West Broadway, Central Ave and Hamburg Turnpike/Paterson Hamburg Turnpike toward St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center.

After 57B toward Downtown Paterson, merge onto NJ-19 N, then turn left onto Cianci Street. Continue onto Tony Lalama Blvd. for about 344 feet, then continue onto Curtis Pl and then onto memorial Dr. Turn left onto West Broadway and in about a mile, make a slight right onto Central Ave. where you’ll continue onto Hamburg Turnpike/Paterson Hamburg Turnpike for about half a mile. You will notice a large, visible sign and logo for St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center. Start reducing your speed and be prepared to turn right at the entrance. Then make your first left, continue down the road and head for one of the visitor parking lots.

From Northern Areas:

Take I-287 South and stay to your right to take exit 59 for NJ-208 South toward Franklin Lakes. Then continue onto NJ-208 South for about 374 ft and then take the High Mountain Road exit toward Colonial Road/Franklin Lakes.

Note, you’ll then take the following main routes for about 6 and a half miles: High Mountain Road, Belmont Ave/Passaic County 675, and University Dr to St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center.

After taking High Mountain Road. exit toward Colonial Road/Franklin Lakes, turn left onto High Mountain Road and in approximately 2 miles at the traffic circle, continue straight to stay on High Mountain Road and continue for 2 miles. Make a slight right onto Belmont Ave/Passaic County 675 and continue for about a mile. Then, turn right onto West Overlook Ave, continue for about a mile, and turn right onto University Dr. and continue for about a mile. Then, turn left. Continue until you see St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center campus and head for one of the visitor lots.

From Western Areas:

Traveling East on Route 80, use the right two lanes to take exit 53 to merge onto US-46 East toward State Highway 3/Wayne/Clifton/Lincoln Tunnel.

Note, continue on US-46 E to St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center for about 6 miles.

After taking exit 53 to merge onto US-46, use the right lane to merge onto US-46 East, make sure you are passing by Wendy’s, which will be to your right. Then, take the exit toward Wayne. Merge onto Riverview Dr and continue for a mile. Then continue onto French Hill Road. for about 272 ft. and then turn right onto Valley Road and continue for about a mile. Then, turn right onto Preakness Ave., then turn left onto Laauwe Ave. Then, make a slight left onto Garside Ave and turn right onto Ratzer Road. Finally, turn left onto Hamburg Turnpike/Paterson Hamburg Turnpike and you will notice a large, visible sign and logo for St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center. Start reducing your speed and be prepared to turn right at the entrance. Then make your first left, continue down the road and head for one of the visitor parking lots.

From Southern Areas:

Traveling north on the Garden State Parkway, take exit 155 A for NJ-19 toward I-80/Paterson, then continue onto NJ-19 for 2 miles.

From New York City:

From the George Washington Bridge, continue onto I-80 Express West for about 3 miles and merge onto I-80 Express West and continue for about 9 miles. Then, Take exit 55B to merge onto Union Blvd toward Totowa.

Note you’ll be taking the following main roads to your destination: Take Bogert Street. and Minnisink Road to your destination.

After merging onto Union Blvd, turn left onto Bogert Street., then turn left onto Minnisink Road and continue for half a mile and turn right when you see the signs for Totowa Health Campus.

From Northern Areas:

Traveling south on I-287, take exit 52A-B toward Riverdale/Wayne and in about half a mile, merge onto NJ-23 South and continue for about 7 miles. Then, use the left 3 lanes to merge onto I-80 East via the ramp to New York and continue for about a mile.

You’ll then take exit 54 for Minnisink Road toward Little Falls/Totowa. Continue down Minnisink Road, keeping left at the fork for about 100 feet. Finally, turn left once you see the signs for Totowa Health Campus.

From Western Areas:

Traveling east on Route 80, take exit 54 for Minnisink Road toward Little Falls/Totowa and keep left at the fork to continue toward Minnisink Road. Turn left once you see the signs for Totowa Health Campus.

From Southern Areas:

Traveling north on the Garden State Parkway, take exit 153B on the left to merge onto NJ-3 West toward US-46 West. Continue NJ-3 West for about 7 miles.

As you merge into NJ-3 West, keep left to stay on NJ-3 West, then merge onto US-46 West and in about 2 miles, continue straight onto US-46 for about a mile. You’ll then take the exit toward County Rte 640/Riverview Dr/Little Falls/Wayne. Then, turn right onto Minnisink Road and once you see the signs for Totowa Health Campus, turn left.
