Acute Partial Hospitalization
ACUTE PARTIAL HOSPITALIZATION
The Harbor House Acute Partial Hospital Program (APH) serves adults 18 years of age or older residing in Passaic County. APH services provide stabilization of acute symptomatology in order to prevent the need for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. This is a client-centered program for adults with a history of serious and persistent mental illness and functional limitations. In order to be eligible for services, potential clients must be referred by the local designated screening center or psychiatric emergency service as a diversion from hospitalization, or by an inpatient psychiatric facility or other intensive psychiatric service, if the treating psychiatrist/APN clearly justifies acute clinical need.
Using evidence based practices; we embrace the philosophy of wellness and recovery. The balance between recovery and clinical services is accomplished through the provision of individualized, comprehensive, nonresidential, structured programming which provides counseling, case management, psychoeducation and psychiatric services.
Our APH program is staffed with personnel, who are licensed, when required, appropriately credentialed, culturally competent and trained to provide APH services. Our qualified direct and clinical care staff-to-consumer ratio is 1:6 for active programming. Eligible persons are provided face-to-face, individual encounters with our full-time psychiatrist a minimum of every other week.
Five groups are offered each day. Individual and group therapy help identify and manage symptoms and interpersonal problems that contribute to a greater risk of decompensation and relapse.
Program hours are 8:50 a.m. to 3:05 p.m., Monday through Friday.
